Why support us?
Super Sonic Samba School is a California nonprofit organization, qualified to accept tax deductable donations under Section 501(c)3 of the Federal Tax Code. Your donations are tax deductable and help us to continue our community outreach efforts to keep the arts of Brazilian dance, percussion, and costuming alive.
Our Board of Directors also believe in enriching communities and art education rich through the celebration of culture, traditions, and music and dance art. We hold our mission with the upmost pride and respect and continue to sustain our school (we celebrated our 25th anniversary in November of 2014). It is important to us that we continue our outreach and welcome all ages, cultures and individuals who are interested in learning the art of Brazilian music and dance and simply sharing it with the world and our community in San Diego!
Our mission is to share Brazilian music and dance through performance, community classes, and community city members participation in our performing arts ensemble.
We provide free use of Brazilian percussion instruments - open class and school rehearsals held twice weekly (Wednesdays and Sundays) in Balboa Park .
Please see our Class Information here.
Through our outreach efforts, we provide the rare opportunity for members of the San Diego community to learn to dance and play Brazilian music in an organized group setting under the instruction of experienced and passionate masters.
We at Super Sonic Samba School love to share our passion for dance and music at our performances, captivating audiences all over San Diego for 25 years. We perform for many other organizations, teach workshops, walk in parades and host many other art performances. We also support our friends in the Samba Community in San Diego and outside of San Diego. There are wonderful performance groups in our community who we endlessly partner with!
